Ingredients
For the Cookies:
- 24 Oreo cookies
- Candy eyes
For the Green Frosting:
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened, 1 stick
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon green gel food coloring
For the Orange Frosting:
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened, 1 stick
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon orange gel food coloring
Instructions
For the Cookies:
- Carefully twist apart each Oreo cookie. Carefully scrape the filling out of the cookies. Set the cookie halves aside. TIP: You can use the removed Oreo filling to make truffles, frosting, milkshakes, ice cream toppings, dessert dips, and more.
For the Green Frosting:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
- Add the green gel food coloring and 2-3 tablespoons of milk to reach your desired consistency. Mix until the frosting is smooth and vibrant green.
For the Orange Frosting:
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
- Add the orange gel food coloring and 2-3 tablespoons of milk to reach your desired consistency. Mix until the frosting is smooth and bright orange.
Assembling the Halloween Monster Cookies:
- Lay out the Oreo cookie halves on a clean surface.
- Using a piping bag or a spoon, apply a generous amount of green frosting to the flat side of one cookie half.
- Place another Oreo cookie half on top of the frosted side to create a thick sandwich.
- Press candy eyes onto the green frosting around the edges of the cookie to create the monster's eyes.
- Repeat these steps for the remaining Oreo cookies until you've created a spooky collection of green and orange Halloween Monster Cookies.
- Place the cookies onto a tray in the refrigerator to allow the frosting to set for a little while before serving.
